My Little Sister

My Little Sister                                    Alternative Prompt
My little sister had her birthday today, on November 30th and she looked like she had a great day. The first thing I asked her when I got home was, “How old are you today?, and she answered Fingers many, meaning how many fingers she had up was her answer, which was 4 fingers. From the time I got home she had a smile on her face, playing with all of her new toys and books that she got today, until the time around 10 PM when she was snuggled right next to me, sleeping while I began to type this prompt. My mom always says this, “She loves me the most out of our entire family” and I really notice it too, because whenever I go into my room to watch a movie, she is right behind me trying to sneak in or she will just say “Brock’s Room” and will go into my room and watch the movie with me, or just get into trouble in there and make a mess. Other times she will go in there to ask me for my Iphone to play the game that she likes to call the “Mouse Game” where a mouse runs around trying to get cheese. One of the main things that I love about my sister is that she is a very loving and caring individual, and the way I can tell that she is that way is because she loves and hugs and takes care of everything in the house like my cats to the dog, and finally, my little brother Easton. I hope that when my sister is older and can read better, she can read this and know how much I really love her, even though she will probably be even more annoying then she is right now when she gets into all of my stuff

Frugal

Frugal
My Mom is very frugal. She is probably the most thrifty person that I have ever known, because of the economy right now, so people have to be smart with their money. For example, my mom uses coupons for everything from cereal to kitchen appliances. She saves almost $40 every time she goes shopping, so that saves us a lot of money just from that. That way we can buy more stuff that we would enjoy, but like I said, my mom is very frugal and she likes to save as much money as possible. I understand why she does it though, it’s because she loves my family very much. She want’s us to get through these tough times together. I know now why I can’t get something like some money to go to the mall or to get a new video game. My mom finds coupons everywhere from in fliers in the mail, the internet or at the stores themselves. With all of the stuff that my mom buy’s weekly adds up into what my mom calls a “Stockpile”. We have stuff in there from disinfectant wiped to canned goods like Chicken Noodle Soup and Baked Beans. She also gets stuff to put in the freezer like Pizza’s and pot pie’s. This all started when my mom started watching a show called “Extreme Couponing”. The show is about how people use coupons and save around $600 and only have to pay around 50 cents to a dollar for half a grand’s worth of food. My mom want’s to save that much money on that much food someday and I do too, because that’s a lot of food. This is what I decided to write about on the word frugal, because I thought of my mom right away because that is just the way she is.

Just "Nothing"

"Okay guy's, we're going out to walmart real quick, but we'll take the kids with us so you can do something for us. I would like it if you could clean up the house for me by the time we come back"She said, shutting the door behind her.
I go back to my room and take a look at the time, it's 12:11. That means that I have around 3 hours before she will be back, so I don't have to do it right now, I can just relax, so I just turned on my 55 inch flat screen onto MTV and watched Jackass. I was starting to zone out, so I didn't see what stupid stuff they were doing. My older brother nick, who is 19, walked in the kitchen from his room. He slammed the door just enough to make me snap to attention.
"Hey, watcha doin"? I mumbled, barely letting him understant what i was asking.

"You know, Nothing at all". He replied angrily, still mad about the fact that he can't get a job right now. So he sat down on the couch, right after I decided to take a quick nap for probably around an hour, just leaving me with enough time left over to clean up the house and do all that, so i curled into a ball on my bed, and dozed off. My brother woke me up 45 minutes later telling me that I had to do the chores right now or they wouldn't be done by the time I got home. I called my mom, just to make sure that I had enough time to do all of the chores.
"Hello", my mom answered
"Hey, just wanted to check in with you and see when you're coming home"
"I'm gonna be home soon, probably in 20 minutes or so" She said.
"Why", she asked"Are you almost done"?
"Well, you better be done before I come back", She said with an unpleasing tone.
I hung up the phone and started to wonder what she will do if i don't do any of the chores by the time she gets home?
I sat down right back where i started in the beginning, watching TV with my brother Nick. Around 15 minutes later, my mom arrives back home.
"So, are you done"? She questioned.
"Nope" I replied quickly.
"What did you do then"?
"I did absolutely nothing at all"
"What do you mean, you had to be doing something"!
"Well to me I did nothing, so I'm gonna go back to my room and do Nothing"!!!!!!!!!

WInter

"Hey Nick, I think that I left something outside" I said groggily, just waking up.

"Well good luck, we had that blizzard last night", He replied."It gave us 4 to 5 feet of snow"

"Fine, I'll go out there, wanna help"?

"Sure, just let me get my jacket"

"How cold is it"?, I questioned, putting it on.

"I think it's -10 outside". He said, "It's been a lot colder".

"I need a little help with the door" I said, it was like pushing a car by yourself.

We pushed and pushed, until the door busted open, sending us flying into a wall of snow and ice, our faces turning red.

Right away, I began to dig in the snow all the way till I was scratching a tree. I dug deeper, until I grabbed my toy's from the snow. I walked inside, started to relax, and drank hot chocolate.

My Mom's Beef Stew

My Mom’s Famous Beef Stew
Brock Malcolm

The First bite I had, filled with succulent and just complete goodness. It was the dumplings, filled with juices from everything in the bowl, mixed together to create the best dumpling ever. The Main part of the meal was the beef. It was perfect, the juices held up in the meat, soaking in the juices of the carrots and dumplings. The second bite I had was a mix of the Dumplings and the Beef; it was almost like a Philly Sandwich. The Carrots were the third thing I had, soggy with the soup, still it was delicious.
The side of this meal was also very amazing, it was homemade garlic bread. It was the best I’ve ever had; the garlic was perfect, not too little and not too much. The bread was warm, chewy, and not hard, it was just perfect.
I made a sandwich out of this meal, I cut the bread in half, put the dumplings and the beef in it, the drizzled the soup over the bread, the first bite I took, the first thing I tasted, was the warmth of the dumplings, as plump as they were, the soup leaked out of the dumplings and into the bread, so every bite no matter what was still very delectable. The beef was soggy too now, juices dripping out of my mouth. I ate every last bite of this meal and it was the best meal I have ever had.

The amazing coverup alternative prompt

I knew I was going to be in touble when my parents were going to found out what I did. I was going to be in the biggest trouble I would ever have been in my entire life. I was most likely goig to be grounded for like, ever. My parents would be home in about an hour or so, so I had to get this taken care of quick. The first thing i di was that i needed to get the vacuum out of the office and pull it out into the living room. Anybody in the house could have hear the vacuum sucking the glass out of the capet and while it wass going down the tubes, crunching and grinding its way into the vacuum.

I'm pretty lucky, because even though it is her favorite picture, she doesn't go into details on how it looks, so im pretty sure that I could just slip the painting into a different frame. I just needed to find one and that would be the hard part. The second part that i needed to do was get the parts of the old frame and get them in the garbage. So I picked up the shattered edges of the frame and put them in the garbage bin outside, so my mom would never find out what had happened.

I was releived to see that there was no noticeable damage done the the painting itself, or else i would have stopped there and given up. I started to begin my search for an empty fram the same size as the one before. I looked everywhere, from the garage, to the living room, and finally the attic. I found the frame in the attic, very gently placed it down next to the painting. I kneeled next to both peices of what seemed to be a puzzle. I took a good look at the painting. It was the most ellaborate painting i had ever seen in my entire life, it was a painting of two elephants enveloped in a red and yellow grass that warmed the entire painting. This painting was my mom's most favorite painting that she ever had, and it made me feel terrible that i broke it, so i had to make it right. While i was doing the most dellicate job putting the painting inside the frame, my mom called me.

"Hello" I asked, questioning what she wanted.

"Hey, just wanted to let you know that we are on our way home, we will probobly be home in five minutes, just loading up the groceries", she said.

I hung up the phone, hung the painting up, turned on the TV and sat down on the couch, and just then, my parents walked in throught the door.
